Have you ever dreamed of learning to surf?
Not just getting up on the board and surfing, but learning what surfing teaches.
Today I experienced this thanks to Aloha Surf Academy Fuerteventura
Previously, I had taken over 40 surf lessons elsewhere. Then, I scared myself, and I stopped surfing for 1 year.
With them, I decided to return to the water.
Living in Fuerteventura, it’s still the height not to go there.
In truth, calling it “a surf lesson” is in my humble opinion borderline insulting, given the incredible experience that is offered, it’s unique.
Individual pick-up at the hotel or at a meeting-point. Alex checks the conditions of the sites for the first time.
Then, direction La Oliva, Lajares being occupied on Saturday by the market, to do SurfSkate Carver there.
We learn balance, position, movements, turns, without being in the water, all on a skateboard.
Individual advice, personalized, adapted to everyone, I rediscovered surfSkate.
Once we had laughed, created a team-spirit, well practiced, and we were hot for the rest, direction the East Coast for our surf session.
Arrived on the spot, warm-up, practice on the sand with unique learning methods. It’s humorous, super educational, and metaphors that resonate.
Once in the water, Alex corrects us and guides us from the beach, no “I push you and get up”. It’s you who does it, straight away!
He refines, rectifies, shows you, verbalizes, and returns to you there.
Then, an explanation of the energy, A big session of Breathwork, we release the tensions, we reconnect to our body, to the push, to the movement, and back to the water, new session.
We will finish with a super complete stretching, and at 4:30 p.m., tired, smiles on our lips, we return to the fold.
A HALLUCINATING experience that lasted 6 hours.
Reconnected to the desire to go in the water, no more fear, I rediscovered surfing. Thanks thanks thanks !
