What is special about surfing in Fuerteventura?

You have here the west coast, the east coast and the Northshore. Due to the large selection of spots, you can choose the conditions you want to have. We also have many reefs on the Northshore. There, the waves do not break as fast and steeply as on the sandy beaches, but rather smoulder in front of them. As a beginner, you can practice surfing green waves in peace.

Answer : Alex Hüslberg, coach ” I used to be very critical of surf schools. Some of them just throw the students into the sea and then let them try it out there. At that time I just bought a board and taught myself everything. But I only learned to surf really well through the surf instructor training – because there I had to correct out many mistakes that I had become accustomed to”

Can you help me to move on with my level even if I have already done a surfing course and I do practice myself a few times?

Answer from Alex the head instructor :

From my experience as a surf instructor, I can say: you just never have learnt everything. In the advanced course then, for example, you learn to drive the wave and control the turns. After learning the manouvres. When you go on your own, you might make many technical mistakes you are not aware of, and in my class I am there to point them to you and correct them !

HI Alex, tell us why you founded the Aloha Surf Academy ?
I worked a lot for the other surf schools in Corralejo as a surf instructor on Fuerteventura before the founding of the Aloha Surf Academy.

For my idea of surfing lessons – or teaching in general – it  was not always very satisfactory.

I couldn’t realize my ideas, so in 2011 I started my own school . I wanted to look for a new system and do everything the way I want it to be.

I like to have the time to offer a proper surf technique and time to have quality time with my guests.
